Spring!

The sun's shining! ... and, I'm. freezing....

I'm super excited about the prospect of coming out of hibernation after the Longest Winter Ever (lasting from November to March - err, as per usual in Britain) & I'm already fantasising about festival worthy summer wardrobes probably five years or so too young for me, drinking beers from plastic cups on the Common and having an actual lure of sunshine to prise the Xbox controller from t'boys paws.

However, as we optimistically set out yesterday for a wander i was struck by two things:

a) Sunglasses;

Where the feck had they buggered off to? Last years pair hadn't been seen since September and a look through the usual junk drawers confirmed they were well & truely lost, so i've been scrolling through the usual suspects this morning to find inspiration for Sunglassess 2010. (I only ever buy highstreet > £20 pairs after an ill advised Chanel post break up incident c. 2003. Total waste of £200). I turned up these at £15 from Topshop which I thought were really sweet but I'm not sure if the black frame is too strong for my blonde / pale skinned complexion, in which case I'll default to a pair of good ol' aviators.

b) COLD;

It didn't seem right to be wearing my big coat somehow, so i opted for last Springs over-sized blazer over a teeshirt & cardigan, and my ever present Uniqulo denim shorts & tights. It was still too bloody cold though, so I'm on the hunt for skinny knits for layering and Spring worthy scarves. Topshop's come up trumps again with this lovely bit of snood.

Could it be that I'm back in love with Topshop??

Glass Ballerina

One of my all time procrastination habits that stop me from heading to the gym, alongside typing out blog posts that never see the light of day & biting my fingernails, is planning what I'll be wearing when I eventually get Facehunted * (stop sniggering at the back).

I think I've definitively settled for 'off duty ballerina' & have spent about an hour this morning messing about trying in some way to justify why the sourcing of the perfect frill skirt, mannish knit and over sized bag is central to my over all well being...

* I'll also settle for appearing on the most excellent Jak & Jill but there's a long hard slog at the gym ahead. lest i end up looking like these lil cuties...
